Our featured realtor is Trisha Lee of RE/MAX Boone Realty. We recently sat down with Trisha for a Q&A session.
What can clients expect when doing business with you?
I really, really listen to make sure I understand their goals, put myself in THEIR shoes, then do everything in my power to make their wishes a reality. Their transaction should be all about THEM, what THEY want and the service I provide is always tailored to their needs, not only what they've asked for but things they HAVEN'T asked. People don't buy and sell their homes every day but I DO see what's happening every day and that's the value I bring to them. Knowledge, experience and expertise are what I bring to the table and like using a Doctor, Lawyer or CPA with a track record, I'm a full time professional, dedicated to assisting my clients from the beginning to the end and continuing service beyond the sale. I want to be their friend and REALTOR for life.
What do you like most about being with people?
There is great satisfaction in helping people find their special place to buy or sell, allowing them to move on to another phase of their lives. Also, for me, it's not just about selling real estate, it's about community, helping them with the changes and stress that come with the relocation process. I relocated 8 times to 6 different States with my husband's profession before we settled in Columbia so I really understand what a toll it takes on the family or individual when they're making so many decisions. They need someone to not only work with, but a shoulder to cry on or a hand to hold to get through the process. I've been there and truly valued the real estate professionals who helped me when I was making changes. I want to be that person for my clients.
In your opinion what is the state of the housing Market in Columbia?
With the $8,000 and $6,500 tax rebate incentive extension there should be a lot of movement through the first two quarters of the year. Also, the state is offering tax leniency and there are programs from the City of Columbia that people might qualify for as well. There has never been so much help available for buyers and sellers and now is definitely the time to sell and buy before those incentives disappear. Hopefully, the momentum will carry on through the rest of the year and beyond. We haven't had the percentage of short sales and foreclosures that they've experienced in other parts of the country but we're seeing more come on the market. If people are going to sell, they need to do it before more of those occur and bring their investment down further than has already occurred, or they just need to stay where they are until the market turns more.
What is the one thing that people might not know about me?
I sang with the symphony in Dallas, TX and was Peter Pan (yes I flew) in a production where my two sons were in the same cast as lost boys. Also, I'm a terrible golfer but very enthusiastic. Took that up when I couldn't play soccer any more (played until I was 30, then my knees gave out).
